How can you help our charity?

As a completely self-funded charity, we rely on donations to keep our work going. We know times are tough for many people right now, but even the smallest donation can really help us grow and reach more people who need us. You could also hold a fundraising event to raise money for TakeTen, with your friends or with your colleagues at work. There's loads of ways you can get involved! Here's just a few:

Donate as you buy

All you need to do is:

Hold a fundraising event

Are you thinking of holding an event to raise money for a good cause? Choosing TakeTen is not only a great way  to fundraise for a local charity, but to increase awareness of mental health issues and suicide prevention. Planning an even in TakeTen's name helps start the conversation and break down the stigma that still exists around suicide and depression.

Maybe you fancy holding a tea and cake afternoon with friends, getting active by doing a sponsored walk or signing up for a mud run, or if you're looking for something to get the adrenaline pumping, how about a skydive?

There are endless ways you can fundraise for TakeTen and you don't have to do it alone. If you're planning an event, just let us know and we're more than happy to help you out with advice and even a branded t-shirt to wear for the event!

Leave us a gift in your Will

If you leave a gift to a charity in your Will, it will be tax-free and can help reduce the inheritance tax paid on your estate. That means that any amount you leave to us will be donated to us in full, and we will benefit from the full amount you leave.

People choose to leave gifts in their Will for many reasons, but remembering a charity that is close to your heart is meaningful and is a great way to help us continue our work.

Get a Will or an LPA and Vital Documents will make a donation on your behalf

If you don't have a Will yet, or are interested in making an LPA (lasting power of attorney), we have partnered with a local Batley-based company who are specialist Will Writers. If you use Vital Documents for your Will or LPA, and mention TakeTen when you get in touch, they'll make a £45 donation to our charity if you go ahead with their services.

Find out more about them below, and if you get in touch remember to mention us!

What will my donation do?

Because we receive no government funding, donations of any kind are highly welcomed. Funding can help us to with all of our activities, such as running our weekly group sessions, offer regular 1-to-1 drop-in sessions, offer a safe space to those in crisis, attend crisis situations as first responders, manage a crisis helpline and so much more.

We are always looking for ways to expand our network to enable those most vulnerable to get help from us. Other donations such as furniture, shelving and activity packs are also needed to enable our new premises to be more welcoming and transform it into our home.
